Crew Talk: Becoming a Games Artist

  • The National Videogame Arcade 24-32 Carlton Street Nottingham, England, NG1 1NN United Kingdom (map)

Free All ages welcome

If you’ve visited our galleries, you will have noticed our excellent Crew in their black and orange t-shirts. Not only are they helpful, enthusiastic, and good-looking, they’re also a talented bunch with skills and experiences that they are keen to share with our visitors.

The games industry is a very new medium, consequently there still is not much public insight into careers in the industry or the education process to be qualified to work with games. Charis Reid, an artist and Game Art Design student, will be giving advice on education routes for game art and talking about her own progress, as well as answering your questions about how to get started with game art. If you'd like to know what game art is, why game art is important, what a game artist does and how you become a game artist, then Charis is the person to talk to!
