Fortune & Glory Film Club is an interactive experience, bringing some of our favourite cult classics and laughable dross to life!
Following our sell-out launch, we are back at The Toast Bar and The National Videogame Arcade with one my favourites, and the greatest ever videogame film that's not based on a video game: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World!! Fast, funny, smart, AND dumb - I thought it was a good fit for the Fortune & Glory Treatment.
It's a visual and aural rampage, directed by Edgar Wright. based on the Scott Pilgrim comic by Bryan Lee O'Malley. Starring Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and a ton of people you'll recognise from other awesome things.
And on top of this, all the usual F&G gubbins:
⊙ Goody Bags full of interactive surprises to use!
⊙ Costumes - whether they be poundshop tat or full Cosplay!
⊙ Drinking games (alcohol entirely optional)!
⊙ Stupid competitions with great/crap prizes!
⊙ A playlist of your favourite themed tunes!
⊙ A toastie-munching interval!
⊙ The innuendo horn!
We don't really revel in cinema, we frolic! Expect a shared experience, shouting silly stuff out, and (most importantly) a lot of laughs. BUT - there's no peer pressure here! You can join in as much or as little as you please.
The Venue: The Toast Bar is situated above the National Videogame Arcade in Hockley. The building is accessible, and neutral bathrooms are available. The bar offers a tasty menu of toasties and cakes, milkshakes, beers, soft drinks, cocktails, and hot drinks to keep us satisfied throughout our adventures.
This event is limited to advance tickets only, so book early to avoid disappointment.
